Dorothy E. (Dot) Dorman has served at the Chief Executive Officer of the Harmony Foundation since September 18, 2009. Prior to being appointed CEO, Dot was the Chief Financial Officer of the company, and has been employed by Harmony since 1985.
After a successful career as a Junior Accountant with a Fortune 500 company in the Boston area, Ms. Dorman and her family relocated to Estes Park, Colorado. She was employed by a local CPA firm from 1982 – 1985.
Having experienced first-hand living in a family impacted by the disease of alcoholism, she felt an immense desire to assist other family members in finding help for their loved ones. She welcomed the opportunity to work at Harmony Foundation, a residential substance abuse treatment center with an outstanding national reputation.
Combining her business, computer and personal relations skills, Ms. Dorman led the Accounting, Human Resources and Computer Technology aspects of the business for over 20 years. She served as a member of the management team throughout those years, and was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2009.
In 2011, Ms. Dorman was nominated as a 2011 Woman of Distinction by the Northern Colorado Business Report in the area of Health Care, for her career at Harmony Foundation.
All of the positions that she has held at Harmony Foundation have enabled her to fulfill her passion to help families dealing with addiction issues. In the time since she joined the organization, she estimates that more than 12,000 individuals have sought treatment at Harmony, and she is proud to have been instrumental in Harmony’s mission.

Dr. Peters earned a joint BA/BS from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master Degree and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She joined the Hazelden staff in 2006 and served as a Psychologist in the addiction units and as a faculty member of the addiction studies graduate school. Dr. Peter’s academic and clinical interests include assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of addiction and co-occurring disorders, multicultural counseling, and mindfulness based cognitive-behavioral psychotherapies. She has a particular interest in assessment of treatment center capacity to treat various addiction related disorders though the application of the Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addiction Treatment (DDCAT) Assessment.

Gina2011revised (629x790)Gina is a graduate from Florida State University with a degree in Health Education and Masters from University of West Florida in Health Education and Management.

She has over two decades of experience working in the field of prevention, intervention, addiction treatment and recovery. Her background in health communications and health promotions has evolved in both the public and private sectors working in local, regional and national organizations, hospitals, and institutions of higher learning in Florida, New York, Ohio and Virginia.

She has worked in marketing and business development for residential treatment programs in Virginia and Florida. A recent transplant to Colorado, Gina was Vice President of Marketing for Lakeview Health providing leadership and oversight to brand management, digital marketing communications, outreach support and alumni services.

She is an industry leader speaking about Ethics, Recovery Oriented Systems of Care and Marketing and Business Development best practices. She is a member of the Treatment Professionals Alumni Services (TPAS) Board and an active member of the Addiction Treatment Marketing Organization (ATMO). Gina philosophically believes that change happens when others stretch across the divide and work together.

Alyssa has worked at Harmony since 2009 in various positions. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Colorado State University. Her previous work experience includes working at a residential home for children who were abused, volunteering as a victim advocate thru Estes Valley Victim Advocates (EVVA), working at a domestic violence safe-house, and working with people with developmental disabilities.

Alyssa is a Colorado native. She is married and in her free time enjoys knitting, hiking, wakeboarding, traveling and playing Frisbee golf. Her passions include helping and working with children, understanding the complexities of mental health disorders, and furthering her education.

Tim McCarthy Joined the Harmony Foundation team in September of 2011. He came to the agency with extensive experience in the substance abuse treatment field spanning over 35 years.

He started his career in Minnesota in the middle 70’s and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1979 to take a counseling job at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco CA. He eventually became the Program Coordinator. He then served as a Clinical Coordinator for a 20 bed adolescent residential program through John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek CA. In 1993 he and his family moved to Colorado. He served for 15 years as a part of the senior management team at Arapahoe House Inc. His responsibilities varied over his tenure there but always included managing programs that served those suffering from substance abuse disorders.

In November of 2008 Tim left Arapahoe House and took a job as a ski instructor at Winter Park CO. where he prides himself on spending 3 full seasons being a quasi-ski bum.

He has a passion for those that suffer from alcoholism and other drug dependencies and believes everyone has the ability to improve the quality of their lives if they desire.
