Residential Recovery Program

Harmony’s approach views addiction – whether it be to alcohol or another drug – as a medical illness. As this disease progresses, it has dramatic, often devastating consequences that impact important life areas – health, relationships, values, jobs and finances. Our treatment program is specifically designed to treat the physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial aspects of this illness. We believe that with guided help and through a process of change, our students can transform themselves into the responsible, stable, productive, capable individuals they know themselves to be.

Chief among the goals of our of treatment, the Harmony Foundation seeks to:

Improve self-image through personal awareness and group support.

Facilitate the development of healthy, fulfilling, interpersonal relationships.

Help students explore, identify, and share feelings that have been, perhaps,
     too uncomfortable to discuss.

Foster a comprehensive understanding about the nature of addiction through
educational and experiential presentations, leading to an acceptance of the
      disease.

Encourage students to accept the 12-Step philosophy (AA/NA/CA) as a
vital and necessary component of their continuing recovery.

The treatment experience here includes A.A. meetings, individual and group counseling, lectures, educational videos, peer support, and participation in our intensive family weekend. Harmony strongly recommends active involvement in 12-Step Programs following treatment.

In working with EAP’s and other referral sources, we will coordinate the student’s care every step of the way – from the preadmission screening process through to discharge planning and Aftercare services. Our aim is to provide for a seamless transition of care for our students as they return to their communities.
