Harmony News Letter

Hello, Harmonoids! We just finished wrapping up a most successful 31st Annual Reunion here at Harmony. Some 208 registered attendees enjoyed a weekend full of fun, food, and friends.

Special thanks go out to Roger Kirby, Senior Counselor, who led a workshop on Anger and Faith. Also, Cindy Eustice and Deb Foster, members of our Counseling Team, co-facilitated a very creative experiential workshop that had everyone buzzin’! And… no Reunion would be complete without Paul Tyman leading us down a path of spiritual pursuits. Hats off to Roger, Cindy, Deb, and Paul - for an awesome job well done!

Moving from fun to another "f" word (food!) – Carl Ropp and his Food Services Team, once again, knocked themselves out treating all of us to some fine dining – Harmony style! This incredible team – Mary Lou, Mary, Sue, Charlotte, and Candace – certainly spoiled us with their excellent culinary talents. Thanks, gang!

Not to be overlooked is Dot Dorman, the behind the scenes coordinator of our annual reunions. Without the efforts of Dot and the staff that volunteer, these reunions would not be the success that they are!

The featured speaker at Saturday night’s banquet was Dick Slaughter, a friend of Bill W"s for 33 years. Dick had a wonderful message in sharing his story and gave us a real visual reminder with his "Rock Talk" of the character defects we’re working on at any given time. What a pleasure it was having Dick and his wife, Joyce, here for the weekend – and what a blessing the whole Reunion experience was for our students.

Two things to be mindful of in your world – please keep longtime Harmony counselor Dick Wagner in your prayers as he continues to struggle with his recovery from a serious and unexpected medical condition. Dick has touched many lives through his own journey, so please, take a moment from time-to-time to lift him up in your thoughts and prayers.

Also, make sure to mark your calendar for next year’s Reunion - September 14th, 15th, and 16th. Our speaker – already booked! – will be Father Leo Booth, a nationally recognized personality in the recovering community, who has a powerful message regarding Faith, Hope, and Spirituality, as we trudge along this road to happy destiny! You won’t want to miss this one!

Until next time… keep safe and keep on keepin’ on!!!
