PROFESSIONAL STAFF TECHNICIAN

Primary Function:   Assumes responsibility for supervision of clients and their activities.   Provide structured activities in evening hours.

Supervision: Supervised by Treatment Coordinator

Essential Functions: 

  1. Supervise clients by assuring that all clients are accounted for during shift
  2. Develop, implement, and supervise structured evening/weekend activities of clients
  3. Respond to clients’ questions regarding recovery assignments during their study time
  4. Supervise clients during their free time in evenings
  5. Prepare and complete shift report for counseling team for following day
  6. Assure that clients have retired to their cabins or rooms by 10:00 pm
  7. Conduct graduation ceremonies of clients
  8. Transport clients to off campus activities
  9. Participate in counseling team staff meetings, as available
  10. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Harmony policies and procedures
  11. Demonstrate knowledge and competency related to confidentiality and ethical standards of the counseling profession
  12. Attend continuing education classes, if assigned
  13. Assisting with admission including data entry and luggage searches
  14. Any other duties assigned to assist nursing and counseling staff with client needs

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience in a Human Service related field is a plus for this position
  2. Physical and emotional health adequate to perform duties
  3. Fluent in spoken and written English
  4. If recovering from chemical dependency, prefer a minimum of two years continuous sobriety upon hire

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Demonstrated ability to relate to chemically-dependent persons with both detachment and compassion
  2. Appropriate communication skills with clients and co-workers
  3. CPR/First Aid certifiable or certified
  4. Demonstrated ability to work with members of a team. Ability to relate to fellow employees in a realistically supportive manner
  5. Personal maturity reflected by sound judgment and decision-making. Ability to make decisions in crisis situations
  6. Valid Colorado driver’s license and eligible for coverage under Harmony Insurance carrier
