Residential Men's and Women's Treatment
Harmony's approach treats addiction – whether to alcohol or another drug – as a medical disease.
We know that as the disease progresses, it has dramatic, often devastating consequences that impact important areas of life – health, jobs, finances, relationships and value systems. Our comprehensive approach to recovery is designed to treat the physical, emotional, spiritual and psychosocial aspects of the disease.
We believe our program offers a strong foundation for long-term recovery. With guided help and through a process of on-going change, our clients find their way back to the responsible, productive, and caring individuals they know themselves to be.
Individualized Care
At Harmony, addiction treatment begins with a comprehensive, individualized plan developed for each client's strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. Their individualized plan is influenced by the addictive substance, family history, gender, physical health, home stability, work environment and many other variables. Each client is guided through the treatment experience with his or her assigned primary counselor and is offered time for fellowship with peers and 12-step meeting attendees, exercise activities, acupuncture, spiritual guidance and well-prepared, healthy meals.
Harmony offers separate programs for men and women, 24 hour health care, medically managed withdrawal for detoxification, Men’s and Women’s chaplains, as well as a Brief Residential Stay program for stabilization and relapse prevention.
Treatment delivers education, therapy and peer fellowship opportunities through one on one counseling, group therapy, and various learning activities. The clients also attend Recovery Education groups dealing with issues such as relapse prevention, relationships, co-dependency and 12 step education.
Living in the pain and misery of addiction becomes a thing of the past. Hope returns... relationships begin to heal... life once again feels like it is worth living.
Residential Treatment
Since our beginning in 1969, Harmony has been a leader in Colorado in alcohol and drug addiction treatment and recovery. Our excellent reputation is evidenced by countless numbers of alumni who continue to thrive in their own recovery today. Our program offers a comprehensive, structured and supportive treatment experience.
We believe that our approach emulates a campus-like experience where our clients are educated about the disease of chemical dependency, and have the opportunity to work through issues and discover the tools that lead to long-term recovery.
The treatment experience at Harmony begins with in-depth professional and medical assessments of the problems caused by the use of chemicals. The client, in collaboration with the treatment team, then coordinates a treatment plan based on his/her individual strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
A major focus of recovery from addiction includes interaction in group therapy. Our gender specific therapy groups create a supportive and therapeutic setting – allowing for freedom to explore the problems created by addiction. Our emphasis on peer interaction encourages finding workable solutions to those problems through a process of self-disclosure and self-discovery.
We strongly believe in the principles and philosophy embodied in 12-Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous and other similar self-help support groups. We have found that this approach – outlined back in 1935 and used successfully by millions of people thus far offers the most responsible and supportive path to long-term recovery from this illness.
Gender Specific Treatment
In the treatment and recovery process, men and women often have different needs. To address these unique needs, Harmony offers separate programs for men and women.
These gender-specific programs allow for a much more focused, thorough and meaningful exploration of issues – in a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment not often found in mixed programs. We find that this approach works extremely well for our clients – men and women alike – as they discuss issues that sometimes are very personal and sensitive in nature.
Harmony also offers men's and women's 12-Step meetings regularly each week that are strongly supported by the 12-Step communities from surrounding areas.
Our campus is designed to easily accommodate these separated programs. In each of the spacious buildings, you will find quiet places for study and comfortable visiting areas. Client cabins are adjacent to the site where each program's activities take place.
Harmony's gender specific treatment, along with a beautiful setting in the Colorado mountains, brings together all the desired ingredients for a peaceful, safe and quality treatment experience.
Our ultimate goal is to see our clients leave with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a healthy, happy and long-term sobriety. To paraphrase the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous – we at Harmony hope to be with you in the "fellowship of the spirit" – joining you as partners on the "road to Happy Destiny!"
