Executive Leadership
Dorothy E. (Dot) Dorman has served at the Chief Executive Officer of the Harmony Foundation since September 18, 2009. Prior to being appointed CEO, Dot was the Chief Financial Officer of the company, and has been employed by Harmony since 1985.
After a successful career as a Junior Accountant with a Fortune 500 company in the Boston area, Ms. Dorman and her family relocated to Estes Park, Colorado. She was employed by a local CPA firm from 1982 – 1985.
Having experienced first-hand living in a family impacted by the disease of alcoholism, she felt an immense desire to assist other family members in finding help for their loved ones. She welcomed the opportunity to work at Harmony Foundation, a residential substance abuse treatment center with an outstanding national reputation.
Combining her business, computer and personal relations skills, Ms. Dorman led the Accounting, Human Resources and Computer Technology aspects of the business for over 20 years. She served as a member of the management team throughout those years, and was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer in 2009.
In 2011, Ms. Dorman was nominated as a 2011 Woman of Distinction by the Northern Colorado Business Report in the area of Health Care, for her career at Harmony Foundation.
All of the positions that she has held at Harmony Foundation have enabled her to fulfill her passion to help families dealing with addiction issues. In the time since she joined the organization, she estimates that more than 12,000 individuals have sought treatment at Harmony, and she is proud to have been instrumental in Harmony’s mission.
