“Alcoholism and Addiction are family diseases. They affect the whole family, and many times tears families apart. The aftercare and family aftercare groups offer clients and their loved ones the opportunity to learn the skills needed to grow back together again - in recovery. It is amazing to watch families grow and reunite”.
Hi, my name is Laura LeBon and I am Harmony’s aftercare group facilitator for family members. I began my career in this field by working at the ARC which is Boulder’s detox facility, while attending school at METRO. I subsequently graduated having earned a B.S. degree in Human Services with an emphasis on addiction studies. I am currently in school, pursuing a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy.
I was hired into a full time position of counselor at the outpatient treatment facility where I had completed my internship. I facilitated alcohol education and process groups for clients and their family members, as well as, managing the DUI program. About two and a half years ago, when that facility closed, I opened my own agency. To date I currently offer Drug and Alcohol Evaluations, Drug and Alcohol Education, DUI services, individual counseling, as well as, the Love and Logic parenting program.
I feel blessed to enjoy my work. I am also blessed to be in a loving relationship, and have two grown daughters and a grandson. I enjoy playing with my grandson, singing, writing, gardening, cooking, drawing, knitting, crocheting, watching movies and reading.
