Chicken, Egg or Chicken Omelet – The Crossroads of Treating PTSD & Addiction

The presentation will review ways that PTSD and addiction exacerbate each other as well as ways that each disorder can interfere with effective treatment of the other. Additionally, strategies to treat both disorders within the context of addiction treatment will be reviewed.

Executive Director
As Executive Director of Smoky Mountain Lodge, Sally has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a residential treatment setting. She began her career as a primary therapist in adolescent residential treatment and has held roles as Clinical Director, Program Director and Assistant Administrator.
Sally received her Master of Education in Community Counseling from Delta State University’s CACREP accredited program, and is also an Educational Specialist in Counselor Education and Supervision. She has completed parts 1 and 2 of the EMDR basic training and has completed two different EMDR advanced practice workshops.
